Todd David Griffith age 50, of Newcastle, passed away early Friday morning, March 12, 2021 surrounded by his family. For many years he fought a long, hard battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Todd was born August 29, 1970, in Norman, OK. He was the middle of three children born to Sherrell “Butch” David Griffith and Saundra Kay (Pate) Griffith. Todd grew up in Newcastle working on the family farm and graduated from Newcastle High School with the class of 1988. While in high school he was active in FFA and attended Newcastle First Baptist Church. He later attended Oklahoma State University and received a Bachelor Degree with a double major in Animal Science and Business. Todd married Leslie Dawn Chester on May 15, 1993 in Newcastle. Together they made their home in Newcastle and raised one daughter, Emily. For over 20 years, Todd owned and operated TG Farms in Newcastle. TG Farms was a full-service greenhouse/nursery, growing and wholesaling vegetables and operating a Pumpkin Patch in the fall. TG Farms was his life’s work and passion. He created a magical place for generations of families to enjoy each fall. Todd was quoted in an interview, “The setup of the Pumpkin Patch is tough. But I like the smiling kids. They are so happy to pick out a pumpkin. It’s better than a million bucks.” In the 20 plus years, Todd employed over 100 high school students who were all nicknamed. Todd was a faithful Christian and for the past 20 years was a member of True Oak Fellowship in Tuttle. He served as the Treasurer, a Church Greeter, on the Youth Ministry Team, and for 15 years he and Leslie held Bible Study in their home. He grew up deer hunting with his Grandpa Pate in southeast Oklahoma. In the 90s, he enjoyed golf and fly fishing. For 14 years he served on the Newcastle Volunteer Fire Dept. Throughout his life he was an avid OSU Cowboy sports fan and he especially loved this time of year when he put together the brackets for March Madness. Todd will be remembered for his generosity, great sense of humor, and his zest for life. He always had a smile for you and a new joke to tell after reading the Reader's Digest. He will be greatly missed.
